Top-down, yearly to 4H
Every market starts at the yearly chart and works down through monthly, weekly and daily to the 4H. The bigger timeframe frames the smaller one.
Kagels Trading is a small German publisher of market forecasts. Karsten Kagels has traded since 1986 and has put his analysis on the public record since 2015. This page tells the story the way we tell everything: as an annotated chart.
Karsten Kagels
Trading since 1986
Karsten Kagels started trading in 1986 and never stopped. What became Kagels Trading GmbH grew out of a simple habit: writing the analysis down before the session, with exact levels, so it could be judged afterwards.
Since 2015 that analysis has been public on kagels-trading.de. Every forecast shows its levels, argues the bull case and the bear case, and ends with a verdict. Readers can check any call against what the market actually did, which is exactly the point.
We annotate charts for a living, so here is our history in the only format we trust: one rising line, four moments that mattered.
The first trade. Every career is built on one level; this one has held for forty years of reading charts.
Kagels Trading GmbH is founded in Berlin and the forecasts go public. Since then the German side has grown into a signals and education team, nine experts alongside Karsten.
The English edition launches: ten markets, the same method, now in English.
Live markets updated two to three times per trading day. The line keeps printing.
Classical chart technique, applied the same way to every market, every time. No black box, the reasoning is the product.
Every market starts at the yearly chart and works down through monthly, weekly and daily to the 4H. The bigger timeframe frames the smaller one.
Support and resistance are named at exact prices. A level you can hold a forecast to, not a zone you can argue around afterwards.
Every update carries both scenarios with price targets: what has to hold for the bullish case, what has to break for the bearish one.
One side gets the stronger case, and the forecast says which. It also names the level at which that read would be wrong.
No black boxes, no performance claims, no signals-for-sale theatre. The forecasts are published openly so the method can be checked against the chart.
Every English forecast carries a named author and a named reviewer, and these three names are the ones you will read. On the German side, a team of nine experts works alongside Karsten on signals and education.

Writes the forecasts. Forty years on the markets, from the first trade in 1986 to ten markets covered today.

Reviews every forecast before it is published: levels checked, scenarios challenged, wording kept honest.

More than 80 articles on algo trading, strategies and prop firms. Backtests in LEAN and runs his own algo framework live on a server.
The same principle as the forecasts: claims you can check. Every review below is published on a public profile.
